Angela began handling eyewear at 17 years old and continued throughout college, working with both boutique and vintage brands. Her love and pursuit of personal connection carry throughout her work whether it’s eyewear, space, or simply color.
Angela had her start as the first in-house designer at an independent eyewear retail brand and introduced several capsule collections which continue today. Her eyewear has been featured in publications including InStyle, Glamour, People Magazine, and Oprah Magazine.
The overarching theme of Angela Bell’s collection with Brook Eyewear is “Designing an Icon” which captures the quintessential styles anchored from the 50’s to the 90’s. Each design captures the essence of the time and adds a layer of today’s design language. Unique milling effects and creating dimension are a few common threads of technique you’ll see throughout the collection. Each frame is named after a city or neighborhood in Angela’s home city of Detroit that has a present-day connection with style and its potential suitor.
