FOR BROOK EYEWEAR

Odin Cappello is an industrial designer with 20 years of professional experience in the field of eyewear design. He has a background in fine arts and industrial design with a BFA from SUNY New Paltz and a MID from the Pratt Institute in New York City. He has worked for established brands like Nike, Michael Kors, Coach, and Calvin Klein, while also helping build and launch eyewear independent brands.

Odin takes inspiration from other fields such as furniture design and architecture, and is inspired by living and working in big cities such as New York and Toronto. He finds eyewear design endlessly fascinating because of the infinite possibilities offered by frame design. He believes that eyewear is a narrative object and that each frame tells a story, not only about the brand itself but about the individual who wears them.

Odin’s approach to the design for his Brook Eyewear collection involved blending designs from the recent past – the 90’s to early 00’s – together with more contemporary shapes to build a distinctive but flattering collection of shapes and colors. The styles are named after American cities that have played a role in Odin’s personal history growing up in the United States.
